When Nebraska surprised pretty much everyone and hired Oregon State head coach Mike Riley away the wheels of change on the Huskers offense began to immediately turn. No more run-heavy offense and no more halfway option offense at times.
Gone overnight were the days of a Taylor Martinez fitting in in Lincoln, Neb. Instead, wide receivers, tight ends and pass-first quarterbacks got a new lease on life. However, change doesn’t happen overnight when you’re dealing with a roster of college football players.
Will Riley be able to adjust to the team he has in front of him while also incorporating his style too? Ultimately that will decide Nebraska’s ability to break the 9-win regular season barrier for the first time since the 2010 season.
